The LGBTQ Iowa Archives & Library offers practicums and internships for individuals seeking professional experience related to work in library and information sciences, museum studies, social justice, non-profit management, gender studies, and social work. Practicum and internship students may be fulfilling degree requirements that might stipulate the number of hours or the type of project. Others may be gaining experience outside of degree program to enhance a resume through professional opportunities.
If you are interested in exploring a practicum or internship at the LGBTQ Iowa Archives & Library, please send the following to director@lgbtqiowa.org: a resume or CV, a message that addresses why you’d like to work with the LGBTQ Iowa Archives & Library, what experience you might be seeking obtain, your degree in progress/recently finished, an institutional contact if necessary, and if the practicum/internship is part of a degree program – what the requirements are for the placement. We may already have opportunities or needs that speak to your interests or we might have the capacity to facilitate a new opportunity.
