Book Donations
The LGBTQ Iowa Archives & Library has currently over 1500 books in our circulating library, all of which have been donated to us. Serving patrons throughout Iowa City and its surrounding communities, our library is a primary source for books on LGBTQ topics and by LGBTQ authors. A true community lending library, many books have been donated by our very own patrons as we’ve grown. We accept any and all books written by LGBTQ authors and featuring LGBTQ themes, topics, and/or characters, whether new or used.
Book donations can be dropped off during any of our open hours. If you have a larger book donation or need assistance moving any books, please fill out the form below so we can arrange a pick-up.
Historical & Cultural Material Donations
Our archives is in its formation stage, building collections from Iowans and Iowa-based LGBTQ organizations across our state. Monetary Contributions
The LGBTQ Iowa Archives & Library is generously supported by our community through donations of time and money. Every single one of our efforts bears a financial cost, whether to keep our doors open, host events, safeguard our archival materials, add books to the library, and maintain our daily operations.
