To celebrate pride and best serve the youth in our community, we are partnering with Sidekick Coffee & Books, our local children’s bookstore, on a K-12 book drive. During the month of June you can call or visit Sidekick in Iowa City to donate a book from our wish list. All donated books will be freely available the LGBTQ youth and teens of Iowa City.
If you shop in store at Sidekick, you can buy us a book from the display (and for yourself if you wish!). If you are located outside of Iowa City and still wish to donate a book while supporting an independent bookstore, call 319.569.1010 and the folks at Sidekick will help you order a book on our list.
At the end of the month, we’ll receive all of the donated titles and add them to our lending library. Since we opened in January, our highest usage has been books from our K-12 cart. We want to ensure a wealth of resources for LGBTQ children, teens, and families in our community.
